ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! My name is Prajna Upadhyaya. I am a junior in high school living in a small town in Massachusetts. I am a creative, outgoing, and passionate individual who enjoys education and the arts. In middle and early high school, I fell in love with three subjects: creative writing, chemistry, and biology. Currently, I am cultivating a growth mindset while using this platform to explore and spread my passions and interests while also helping others achieve the same.

WHY I CREATED THIS PROJECT

I've spent my entire life growing up in a motivated environment, surrounded by friends and parents who were always driven to succeed. In my community, however, I frequently encountered people who had the ability to learn but lacked motivation due to a lack of confidence in their abilities (something I still struggle with). Through my experiences in India and poorer towns in Massachusetts, I noticed that this pattern was more prevalent among the underprivileged. The Covid-19 pandemic hit them hard, robbing them of even the smallest hint of self-confidence that came from their peers at school. So the Art of Biology was born, in which I combined my passion for biology to create a welcoming platform where students are excited and  confident in their ability to learn about the fascinating processes in biology.

ABOUT THIS SITE

The Art of Biology influences the deepening of scientific knowledge and confidence in human and molecular biology for middle and high school students, particularly underprivileged students, but not exclusively. This is a place where students can learn in a fun and creative way about biological processes while picking up a few study habits along the way. Let the motivation and curiosity bloom as you surf through the webinars, slideshows, and blog posts. Welcome to the Art of Biology community!
